Our Story

Tastings W/Tye was created to totally personalize wine tasting giving wine drinkers, connoisseurs  and enthusiasts alike a unique experience that allows hosts to provide a comfortable atmosphere for their guests to learn and enjoy the true meaning of having a glass of wine. We not only teach you "the basics" of tasting wine; we also provide essential wine knowledge creating exciting interactive experiences. Most tastings highlight a black owned wine or spirit brand as minorities make up about 1% of the multi-billion dollar industry. You will become comfortable in the wine section or choosing the wine for the table!

Tyisha "Tye" Griffith, a fiercely motivated serial entrepreneur was born and raised in Dayton Ohio, she completed high school and enjoyed most of her twenties in Memphis TN; A place like no other. Needing a change of pace, Tye moved to Dallas in 2014. After being introduced to the fruitful world of grapes, she found her passion. On her journey she noticed most of the wine bars & tastings she attended she was the minority, often feeling out of place or not welcome; TastingsW/Tye was born.  Her goal was to create a safe place for US to learn, drink, and enjoy wine OUR way unfiltered. She debuted her own Wine brand Honorable Mention in the summer of 2020. She is currently in the process of creating an exclusive concierge delivery service & looking for a winery home to curate more delicious wines.
